High, high above the world sits the Kingdom of Cirrus. Can you imagine it? It is a place where the houses are made of marshmallow fluff and the streets are paved with soft, glowing moonlight. In this kingdom lives a very special hero named Sir Lullaby. He is a tiny knight who wears silver pajamas instead of heavy armor, and his heart is as warm as a fresh cookie.
Every evening, Sir Lullaby whistles for his best friend, Puf. Puf is a pegasus with wings that sound like the soft rustle of book pages—flap, flap, flutter. Puf’s hooves are made of glitter, and when he walks, he leaves tiny sparkles in the air. Together, they prepare the golden satchel. Do you know what’s inside? It’s filled with Dream-Dust, which smells like lavender and sweet milk.
But tonight, there was a little trouble. A Grumble-Gale—a silly, mischievous wind—started blowing through the clouds. It went 'Whooo-grumble-whooo!' and it smelled a bit like old socks! The wind scattered the Dream-Dust and gave poor Puf the hiccups. 'Hic-whoosh!' went Puf. 'Hic-puf!' The flight became very wobbly, like a rocking chair moving too fast. Sir Lullaby held on tight. He knew he had to quiet the sky so all the children could sleep.
Sir Lullaby didn't use a sword. Instead, he reached into his pocket and found a handful of Starlight Sugar. He began to hum a very soft, very low melody. 'Hmm-mmm, shhh-low.' He tossed the sugar into the Grumble-Gale. Suddenly, the grumpy wind stopped being noisy. It tasted the sweetness and turned into a gentle, ticklish breeze. The 'Whooo!' became a soft 'Sssshhh.'
With the sky quiet again, Sir Lullaby and Puf floated down toward the rooftops of the world below. They moved as silently as a cat’s paw. Sir Lullaby reached into his satchel and sprinkled the Dream-Dust over the chimneys. It drifted down like slow, golden snow. Puf flew in gentle circles—round and round, rocking the air itself.
As the last star began to blink, Sir Lullaby tucked the whole world in with a velvet touch. He leaned down and whispered a secret to the sleeping children: 'You are safe, you are loved, and tomorrow is a brand new day.' And that’s how it all turned out just right. Sleep tight, little knight. Sleep tight.
