Trixi the dog lay in the soft, green grass. The sun was warm on her thick black coat. Suddenly, she heard a tiny sound. Flap, flap, flap! What could it be?
A little butterfly named Pip sat on a cold gray stone. Pip was lost and very quiet. Trixi wagged her white-tipped tail and gave a gentle sniff. Sniff, sniff, hello!
βDo not be sad,β Trixi seemed to say. She trotted slowly toward the big, bright flowers. Pip followed her, flying very low. Flutter, flutter, hop! They were on their way.
Trixi walked past the tall, tickly bushes. Her brass bell went jingle, jingle, jingle. Pip stayed close to Trixiβs rust-orange legs. Together, they moved through the woods. Flap, flap, trot!
Soon, they reached the big, colorful meadow. Trixi gave a happy woof! Lots of bright butterflies flew up to meet Pip. The sky was full of color. Flutter, flutter, yay!
Pip was home with the family again. Trixi curled up in the warm grass and watched her friends dance. She felt very kind and very sleepy. Sniff, sniff, nap.
